FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pick Me Up Gives Trainer Hone

100th Career Stakes Victory

RUIDOSO DOWNS, New Mexico (June 5, 2010) – Odds-on favorite Pick Me Up took the lead at the start and never relinquished it to present trainer Bart Hone with his 100th stakes victory while taking the Aspen Cup for sophomore fillies at Ruidoso Downs on Saturday afternoon.

“I didn’t know until a client called me this morning and said I was going for my 100th stakes win,” said Hone, who is attending a family reunion in Salt Lake City.

Jockey Mark Anthony Villa placed Pick Me Up on the lead and she was able to control the pace for the first four furlongs of the 6-furlong dash. Badgett’s Royal made a run at Pick Me Up on the turn and the winner was able to repel that bid to prevail by three lengths. The Yankee Gentleman daughter was timed in 1:10.39 for her second win from three starts.

A homebred owned by R. Legacy Racing Inc, Pick Me Up was well placed in the Aspen Cup after a maiden win and a second-place finish at Sunland Park.

“She had been working really well. When she was second, she beat another filly I have that we really like,” Hone said. “I’m happy form the owners. It’s a good win for the filly.”

If I had A Bull finished third.
